FoxForward, 2007

I have been accepted as a speaker to discuss Data Warehousing with Visual FoxPro at this year’s FoxForward in Georgia! If you don’t have tickets, please get them soon. This is a great event and now, more than ever, the community needs your support. There are a lot of great speakers this year with a bevy of interesting and relevant topics. If you haven’t been to an event, or it’s been a while, then we hope come out to Georgia this year. See you then!

Left Blogger

If you’ve been following my blog for the past year, you’ve been following it on Blogger (http://todmeansfox.blogspot.com/). I actually liked Blogger a lot. In fact, my decision to leave it had nothing to do with the service. You see, I’m a control freak (well, not in the extreme sense). I essentially wanted to build a site around my blog (with downloads, additional pages, etc.) and felt that I needed to host it myself. I also am very interested in web analytics and thought that hosting myself would give me absolute control (which indeed it does).

Then I began the process of evaluating blog software, and WordPress really stood out. Not only was I able to find some XHTML compliant templates, but I also found it easy to modify and construct my own. Anyway, to make a short story long, I moved the blog for the sake of flexibility and control. There you have it!
